How to get here
By Water Taxi
Arrive at Ca’nova in true Venetian style. Your driver will pick you up at the airport or train station, and your journey will take you down the Grand Canal to the Palazzo’s private dock where our butler will be waiting to greet you.
By Vaporetto
The palazzo is conveniently located a five-minute walk from the San Marco vaporetto stop (public water bus). The trip on Line n°2 takes 20 minutes from the train station and 1 hour 15 minutes from the airport (Alilaguna).
On foot
Walking through Venice is always wonderful and taking the 30-minute stroll from the train station will help you get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the city’s maze of laneways and canals. Fear not, you won’t have to worry about getting lost. The palazzo lies very close to San Marco and the frequent signs leading to the main square will help guide you.
Sightseeing and attractions in the immediate surroundings
San Marco
The only piazza in Venice (other squares are called “campo”), so when Venetians say "Piazza," you know they mean San Marco. No stay in Venice is complete without a walk through this legendary square—especially at night when the crowds melt away. During the day, revel in the shimmering golden interior of the Basilica.
Caffè Florian
Opened in 1720 and considered the oldest café in Venice, this elegant establishment on Piazza San Marco is the perfect place for a coffee and people watching. The live music adds a stylish Venetian touch.
Ducal Palace
Marvel at the grandeur of the Venetian Republic at the former residence of the Doge and the seat of Venetian government. Its Bridge of Sighs might not take your breath away, but its monumental rooms, sculptures and paintings surely will.
Harry’s Bar
While you can no longer rub shoulders with former patrons like Ernest Hemingway, Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles, this legendary bar still serves an unrivalled dry martini as well as other skillfully prepared classic drinks. A favourite of locals and savvy travellers alike, Harry's is 5-minute walk from Palazzo Ca’nova.
La Fenice
Considered one of the world’s best opera houses, La Fenice is a 5-minute walk from Palazzo Ca’nova. Relive the greatest moments of opera history by attending a performance of masterpieces by Rossini, Bellini or Verdi. During the day, you can tour the theatre without attending a performance.
Correr Museum
On Piazza San Marco opposite the Basilica San Marco, this museum occupies buildings dating from the Napoleonic era, which ended the powerful reign of the Doges. These spectacular interiors host exhibits on the art, culture and history of Venice.
Million Dollar Mile
It may be hard to resist shopping while staying at Palazzo Ca’nova—top luxury shops, including Prada, Dior, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana line the adjacent street.
La Salute
Guarding the mouth of the Grand Canal across from Ca’nova, the emblematic church of Santa Maria della Salute was built in gratitude for deliverance from the devastating plague of 1630-31. It sits on over 100,000 wooden pilings.
